If you have a sociable, bohemian, feminine and carefree personality, boho chic decoration is undoubtedly perfect for you. It can be achieved without spending a lot of money. The nature of this style benefits from the reuse and recovery of furniture or textiles at very low cost.
Today I prepared 4 beautiful examples of the rooms, which will hopefully inspire and motivate you to make a big change in your home. The main rule: play with shape and release your creativity and imagination.
Tips for boho chic decoration
The bohemian house is unconventional. Many of the ideas and influences are taken from various regions and cultures, including India, Morocco, Asia, or other eastern locations. Boho Chic decor has an old world vibe. The most prominent features of bohemian design are bright, vibrant colors and a rich combination of patterns. You can reach any level of intensity with this design.
Colors and textiles
In any interior, color is the key to a great design. Don’t be shy about mixing shades. Don’t be careful about contrast either, since many of the fabrics mix, for example, pink and orange.
- Most ethnic patterns are found on textiles:
- Tablecloths: A bohemian sunflower or pastoral blue tablecloth is a great way to add color to a dining area.
- Cushions, pillows and duvets should make the bohemian room a comfortable space.
- Long pile rugs,
- Curtains, shawls, tulle and any textile that comes to mind can decorate not only the walls but also the ceiling of our room.
Vintage furniture
Vintage furniture and second-hand accessories are the best friends of boho chic decoration. Try to find worn pieces that show a little history. Wood craftsmanship is mandatory. Old furniture can be painted in bold colors, or even left “as is,” for an authentic bohemian look. Look for them at flea markets, garage sales or on pages like Find24, GarageSalesPanama, ElMercaditoPTY, etc. to get the best deals.
Revive the furniture! Paint an old dresser, nightstand, or cabinet. You can also stick wallpaper to drawer fronts and then apply a sealant for a bohemian look. If you need help my favorite artist – Raffia – can help you. He has his workshop right next to Anti Burger, Panama.
